How it works
From sign-up to the first text
SideLedger sends one category of message: status alerts about invoices and payouts you have entered into your SideLedger account — due, past due, and marked paid. Nothing else is sent to your number, ever.
Log the invoice
Enter the client, the amount, the date sent and the payment terms. Or log a scheduled platform payout instead.
Confirm your number
We text you once to confirm. Reply YES and alerts begin. Reply STOP and nothing further is sent.
Get told when the state changes
SideLedger texts you the day an invoice comes due, the day it goes past due, and when you mark it paid.
The opt-in flow, step by step
- You submit the form. The SMS checkbox is unchecked by default and is separate from the Terms checkbox. We record the timestamp, the page URL and the exact consent wording you agreed to.
- We send one confirmation text. Nothing else is sent until you answer it.
- You reply YES. That reply is stored with its own timestamp. This is the double opt-in.
- Alerts begin. Only the message types listed on this page are ever sent.
- You reply STOP whenever you want. The number is suppressed within 60 seconds and excluded from all future sending.
If you never reply YES, no program messages are sent and the pending record expires after 30 days.
